My name is John and I live in Granite Shoals Tx. a mentor of mine told me: "shut up, sit down and listen and we will see what you have to say in a year." well the year is up and I have spent it reading in the past posts here, the "how to's" not only that I followed the directions whether I like it or not. when it was announced to go out to east Texas and get some rough and equipment, I did and actually I filled the F350 full to the brim. Took it all home fixed it all up like new. Took a five week rock hunt mostly in nevada. went to all the places mentioned here like gemfield and the others. cut open all the rocks I could find including the ones my wife didn't want me too. Learned a bit of geology. bought the John Sinkankas book and read, and still read it. never thought I would pay 60 bucks for a used book, but I did and worth every penny. I voted when asked to in the tumbling contests. everything I wanted to know I found on this site in one form or another. so anyhow I wanted to thank you for a great year of fun.insert quote here

Good to have you aboard. Look forward to seeing pics of your exploits, rocks, dogs, snakes, saws and more. What's happening with all that material so far? Tumbling? Cabbing or just slabbing?
