Recent find. Central WI is not known for having blue or purple Quartz. I have found several pieces of purple/violet, but this is the first with blue/aqua. More evidence that my land is very geologically unusual. The aqua color may be due to trace amounts of malachite. Found a piece of that which a local geologist was amazed by, as he said that is not found in this area.

How really interesting that is . What did the geologist say about how far it traveled? Is it really fractured like a long and hard journey before you found it as float and rescued it? Here's a couple pictures of a Blue Quartz and another that appears more opaque like your find.

Attributed to glacial activity. Possibly from Canada or further North. No, not fractured. Looks like it was embedded in glacier and ended up here with the melting. Just gently placed. I have a blue/gray Quartz a friend gave me from Mt. Rushmore. It looks like the ones in your first photo. Posted a photo of the blue Quartz and Malachite a while back here.
I love ll of the interesting things I am finding. Each one is an adventure and learning experience for me. Also I have to play detective and figure out what it is. Still have hundreds I have no clue on, but they are not your "normal" rocks.

coloradocliff Here is the blue Quartz I have from Mt. Rushmore. Received from a great friend. She was given this as part of her journey to become a Medicine Woman from her mentor. He told her it was removed centuries ago, long before there was even a Mt. Rushmore. She had 2 pieces. Her Mentor, told her to give me this one as part of my Shamanic journey. This was over 20 years after she received it. I love how powerful this stone is. It is predominantly placed where I can see it often.

The second photo also shows the Citrine crystals within the stone.

Looks like iron stains on a blue quartzite.

View AttachmentView AttachmentView Attachment I find the story more interesting than the rock. I try to be a defender of the native Americans but have not been as good at it as I should have. My son has zero native American blood but his friends that do say he is more native than they are. I truly believe the Native Americans have the inside track on spirituality and a greater knowledge of the spirit world than all the orga..... re....... combined (don't want to start a s..t storm) I am not knowledgeable but believe that a great deal of the ancient knowledge has been lost through genocide, murder, disease, stolen children etc etc by the European "christians". Not really a topic for here but I wanted you to know that I am impressed by anyone native or not that understands where we came from and that we are very much in the wrong place with nature. Jim
