So, was starting a copper ring. Needed to change Dremel bit to a cutting disk. Shaft Lock is stuck in the "in" position. Cannot move it. Tried using vice grips and a wrench to change attachment with no luck. The blue shaft locking cover does come off. Have manual, which was no help. All internet advice was more than I am capable of.
Any advice? Keep in mind I am almost blind at times, so that hinders what I am able to do. Do have a lit magnifier which I use with a loop for detail work.
Good news is that Son in Law borrowed me his mini torch. Also gave me some Copper bezel and solder. He makes traditional Kilt pins and Sporran/Kilt adornments. Recently go into using Copper instead of the usual Silver. He had never thought that the leather tools I have could be used for Copper work. Since I am on the verge of using them for that, he will hold off on taking them. Curious to see how they work for Copper tooling.
Thamk you to anyone who can provide advice.

Sometimes, some things just need a good whack. Seriously.

Tried that with rubber mallet, no luck. Was told to take unit part and see if the connecting shaft for the button is stripped. Dunno how that could have happened, as the Dremel was used sparingly. The shaft is tiny. Using the hole drilling bit does not work for things I should be using a grinding disk for. Going to dig deep and see what I can come up with for repairs.
