I'm only doing one Harbor Freight rotary tumbler barrel at a time because other responsibilities have kept me away from the grinding wheel. However, yesterday I finally got these beauties out! I hope it is not another four months before I have something to show... The shine is better than the photo. I have a lot to learn about stone photography and no time to learn it.

The color's more orange too. Note-- I'm image hosting on twitter. I assume since actual presidents are posting there, that site will be free & available to the public for a long time to come.

Wow, how did you get them to be that shape, did you shape them first? They are beautiful. Agate?

Wow, how did you get them to be that shape, did you shape them first? They are beautiful. Agate? Brazilian agate, I believe. Yes, I shape on the wheel before I start the tumbling rounds. Otherwise it really would take forever to get these shapes with a rotary! Six months probably... haven't actually had the patience to see how long. I believe this agate is harder than many others. Certainly it's harder than quartz.

Beautiful!!! I know it's not pet wood, but it really looks like you've captured the rings of a tree in there.
