Got my package two days ago. Amethyst is fair. Large pieces but not much deep purple. Also needs quite a bit of grinding or tumbling in rough grit. Tiger eye is great. If anyone is looking to buy a little I would definately reccomend this. I got five pounds and I'd say over 70% of the pieces will be excellent when finished. No pitting, cracks, or fractures.

I must add my little story of The Rock Shed. He sent me a new Thumler 3# tumbler kit that came with rock. But, they (the Shed) feel that you don't get enough stone when spending that kind of bucks. So they add a little more to your shipment. Which is very cool. This time tho, I had ordered a pound of red Jasper and a mixed bag of small stones and a half pound of large mix. In the large mix I found this rock that you would normally find on the side of the road. You'd pick it up....maybe....and just toss it back into the weeds. So, I took a pic of it and wrote and teasingly "out there, tongue in cheek" type of note. He also sent back same response. This went back and forth for a day or so until I realized that I needed another barrel. So I ordered another barrel. He sent me both the barrel and inside the barrel were around 10 or so pieces that were hand picked Quartz! Two very large nice nice pieces of Tiger Eye, two pieces of very nice Pink Lemonade, two Sodalite etc etc etc! I was just picking and buying another barrel so I would have dedicated barrels now for all my stages and he did this. That's why they will remain one of my first "calls" when looking for anything that has to do with stone, tumblers, grit etc etc. We're taking an Alaskan cruise and I'm trying to figure out a way of going to Mount Rushmore also. If you guys have any suggestions on how I can talk my wife into stopping by, I could use a little help!

Yea the Shed came through this Christmas. My mom bought me some Blue Jasper ROugh- Well she talked to shawn for quit awhile (he knew who I was- and told my mom that I was a NUT!) Well he Promised my MOM that I would be blown away Christmas Day!!! I was- He hand picked some of the nicest Blue Jasper I have ever seen- He was a bit short on the pondage- but inside with the usual candy- we found another baggie with a couple bucks and change because he just could not fit what he wanted to (wieght wise) into the box- (he was only maybe a half a pound under!)

If I settle on a Lot-O Tumbler I'll probably get it from the Rock Shed. I've heard too many great things about this guy.
Jrtrio, I'm on the other side of Lincolnton from you. Have you tried mentioning to your wife that Shawn has candy?

Just a reminder about how good The Rock Shed is - I called Monday afternoon and ordered enough grit, and some odds and ends, to fill a flat-rater. It was here waitin' for me when I got home from work today (Wed.)
That's less than two days from South Dakota to Connecticut!!!
