Shawn is awesome, I was going to order some more Tiger eye from him one day, but he said that what he had left looked like "bottom of the barrel". He called later and said that he found another bag that he had forgotten about. (and he always sends candy) ;D

Shawn is way cool. Had some great times looking at all the rocks I collected, out on the sidewalk. This man knows rocks. He is a natural. He just has a natural affinity with them. It is so amazing to listen to him, both from everything he can tell you about the stuff you picked up, as well as his stories about rocks he picked up -- like driving down the road he spots this boulder in the cut and goes back to see -- next thing you know he's got a team of guys with a flatbed to get it out -- etc., etc. He knows what polishes and what doesn't, and he's impressed when you get a decent result with a hard to polish one. They know a lot about the equipment and seem to have used it all. They are also interested in feedback about stuff, like they were really interested in what I had to say about the Lototumbler. They were impressed with the polish quality I was consistently getting with it.

Just received some AO polish from the Rock Shed and it took less than a week to the UK!! That's faster than some of the UK dealers I've used. And I had some American sweeties - what more could a girl ask for?

i got some smokey quartz from shawn and when i saw it i thought "not so good" after a few weeks in course i was thinking definately "not again" i finished some of the better pieces the other day and they are amazing! so now i have changed my mind about the material. i would buy it again, only knowing that there will be a fair amount of waste unless i trim it up a lot before i start. so i am probably the only person to ever be "almost disappointed" by shawn. I am probably also the only person that does not care about the candy every other thing i have bought there has been first rate, he is the only rock shop in my favorites. cheers jerry

I'm new to rock tumbling and am looking to purchase something that will tumble well. I had a little petrified wood but it has terrible internal fractures. Is www.therockshed.com a good place to buy? I'm only looking for 5-8 pounds. I was considering getting five pounds of amethyst and two pounds of tiger eye from the "crushed rock for tumbling" portion of the site. Is this a good/bad idea? Thanks in advance.

Good Idea. I'd say go for it. The rock shed is the best place to buy from. Read this whole post and I think you'll understand. LOL

Order extra pre and AO polish at the same time. Don't know or care what the difference is but it is great.
