Found this a few years back figured it was ok to pick up in the creek. Found it in a wash packed in the sand and dirt of the slow run off from when the water gets high.came across what looked like a dark tear drop, poked at it with my stock and out popped this. Gave me tingles when I realized what it was. By the knapp style seems to be a type of scrapoer?any thoughts? First artifact

Nice find. Haven't seen one that color before.
Probably a scraper or single edge knife. The way I tell the difference is to move it around in my hand holding it different ways that I might use it. If it is a scraper you should hit a position in your hand that feels like it was made to be held that way. Try the left hand if nothing feels natural in the right hand. If you hit the right spot your hand will know it because they made it to fit that way. Difficult to see but you can feel it instantly. Not sure how they did it but they were very good at it.
If it doesn't fit your hand it could be a quickie throw away scraper but more than likely it would be a knife with no handle. Jim

Jim Wampidytoo I get what your saying many times I held this in wonder, studying the shape and design. I am just amazed at the crafts of these early rockhounds.
