Unwanted cut grass, dreaded Leersia Orzoides, will cut you to shreds with the equivalent of paper cuts started taking this pond over on the opposite end a few years ago. So fast growing Lotus were planted on the other end last year hoping that the early season lotus would shade out the sun loving late season cut grass. Lotus seemed to have hit a brick wall at cut grass interface. Possibly because they are a young stand. Next year the lotus may conquer the cut grass by overtaking it and shading it out. Cut grass started to left in photo and is working it's way to the right side. Lotus planted on this side where the cut grass has not taken over. Battle on.
