Here are a couple of cabochon trios I cut this week. The photos were taken with a cell phone and the colors are off. Actually both sets are incredibly beautiful. The first set is Willow Creek Jasper; I had a nice slab with some unusual straight lines in it. The class demo showed how to cut two mirror-image cabochons. The second is some old Ocean Jasper I had. The class demo showed how to cut a trio with the small cabs "fitting" either side of a larger cab.

Sure can see why you are teaching your art.

Can I ask how you took your pictures? Those are great, too. I took the photos with my iPhone and then did an Auto Smart Fix in Photoshop Elements to adjust the brightness and contrast. I was surprised at thow well the photo came out, especially since I was under fluorescent lighting in the shop.

I think my eyes popped out of my head when I saw the pics. OMG!! Those are awesome! Where is this school? I might have to look into it. Andrea William Holland School of Lapidary Arts is located in Young Harris, Georgia. They have classes running from early April until the end of October. Room & board and cost of class is $395 per week, Sunday afternoon through Friday afternoon. Yes, that's cheap; all instructors donate their time. Some classes have lab fees, and most will require that you purchase raw materials. My class has a $20 fee which gets students a kit of two preforms, printed material, pencil, Sharpie, and a neato egg carton in which to place your work. Start at lapidaryschool.org/ and check the course descriptions. It's a great place, like summer camp for grownups.

Ha I was there when you were creating those. I do believe that it's time to finally make that How-To video, post it here and we can be your Mock Prerelease Group.
