Finally got (hopefully) positive ID on this. Found in Central WI. Malachite with Hematite, Azurite, Copper, Quartz and Opalization. Trace amounts of Iron and other minerals, including Obsidian. Attributed to area volcanic and/or glacial activity. And here I just thought it was very unique. Malachite is very rare here, as is Azurite, Copper and Obsidian. This stuff does not photograph well at all. Thinking it would crumble if worked, so just a specimen.

That is some very nice material.... Green was always an attraction to me with rocks or anything else for that matter....

VEry limited green here. In NW WI it is abundant with all the copper there.

Local geologist who had seen it in person had done the prelim one. He sent my previous photos to another geologist friend.
