It's from the Pendleton Roundup. Looks like a medal from a belt buckle, saddle bronc contest.

Slowly the spurs jingle. Lowly the drum beats. For once I knew a cowboy that was all man. And once I knew a bronc that was all horse. St Peter swing the gate wide. For the cowboy is forkin Ole Widow Maker, And they are comein to the pearly gates pile drivin and sunfishin! For its their last ride....
Now if that ain't what's there to be seen then you can keep your beautiful slab!!! LOL

Wouldn't want the rock, but how about the center piece for a bolo tie for what that bucking bronco round might be?

Anybody read "Last Go Round" by Ken Keasy? (Bad spelling.) It's very good, I recommend it.

It's from the Pendleton Roundup. Looks like a medal from a belt buckle, saddle bronc contest. My daddy used to ride in Pendleton Roundup a long time ago when I was bitty. He always favored bareback events. I cant say clearly because I was so young but think a coin and money for second and third place. Buckle and bigger prize money to the winner of the event. Sad that something is just given away so casually when someone had to risk life and limb to earn it. Like a purple heart medal, you have to earn it to have it. Of course superbowl rings are sold like candy to whoever has the most dollars.
