Oh I hate that happening. I also strongly dislike the sound of s cab demounting itself and flying off to hit the block wall...

Dude- I feel your pain!!! On the bright side, your polish looks good. Better to break now than in a piece of jewelry. Helpful tip- You do not have to push hard to get the diamonds to cut. In fact, they will cut better with less pressure.

A little bit of superglue and all is good. There is something that is just wrong with that happening.

Not always pressure that does that. Millions of tiny polish particles making billions of cuts each produce a tiny bit of heat. I have had balls come out of polish so hot I could not hold them in my hands.
Be careful!

I'm a little rough with mine because I would rather they break sooner than later... Look at them dry before you cut and note any cracks/possible weaknesses & later see if they are stand up. If they don't stand up, if they do crack, you will have learned more about what it looks like in the rough when a stone might have a fragile place. With practice, you will get an eye for "healed fractures" that are not really healed. It takes practice though. Everybody goes through that of cutting something almost allll the way & it breaks in polish, I think it's because polish can be such a "hot" stage.
