Now Normally I have great things to say about them- Outstandingly low prices- great service free gifts if you order on Wednesdays- but I'm having some problems as of late with them- My parents wanted to order me 3 diamond belts for Christmas. Sent them an e-mail asking for some clarification on some discriptions (note to self- Never ask parents for Lapidary equipment- it is more hassle than it is worth!). Christmas came and went with no answer from them- then in early January they finally got around to responding to the question (not even an apology for the tardiness of the response!) OK I can over look that- but then I went and ordered the belts myself on 12/27/06- They told me they were out of stock on the diamond belts and would be getting them in after the first of the year (ok no problem- I figured by 1/8/07 they would be in stock and shipping so I should have them by 1/15/07) But still no belts- I called them on 1/16/07 to see what was up- and they apologized but the belts had not even been ordered yet!!! (WHAT?  ) They assured me they would be in by 1/22/07 and they would ship the same day (so I should have them by 1/29/07)- I'm reserving judgement until next week- but as of now I'm not to thrilled! |

I've had mixed dealings with these people.
Sorry, I hit the "Enter" button by mistake.
I get the feeling that they are not all that in tune with the mail order business.

Well they called last night- I guess 3M does not currently have the 8inch belts available- and they won't be off the line for another 4 or 5 days- Steve (from Santa Fe) was very polite and apologetic about it (I can understand vendor outages) but it is not doing my nerves much good- he offered to cancel my order (which still does not get me the belts) but I let him know that I needed them- So I guess it is another week long waiting game- This is the last chance they get- I realize they are the cheapest place around on these belts- but that does not do me a lot of good if they don't stock them huh?

I deal with santa fe all the time and have not had a problem with them . However all my wheels and belts I buy from Daniallopacki . better price and super service

Yea I think I may hve to start buying them from Dan- I get my Diamond paste from him- Heck I ordered on Saturday and it was in my mailbox Tuesday- I got to talk to Dan directly- it was pretty cool because he was TRUELY interested in what I was working on- and gave me all kinds of great tips and tricks that he uses.

Just wanted to update this- My belts did arrive- (only a day later than their last expected date) They took pretty good care of me too- Send me a nice sheet of Scotchbrite pad (probably a 12"by 12" section) a nice little pocket scredriver set- and a COOL little plastic box that works perfect for Diamond Dremel bits and some Candy (yummy cream soda flavored Dum Dum!) All in all I'm ok with them still-

I wrote to Stefan late last week and mentioned to him that I had ordered a diamond belt from them - they said they had it in stock.... Well today Purolator hand delivered it to my door NO CUSTOM FEES!!!! Yeah - in 5 days to!!! I guess I got a little lucky, I even got some candies!!!
I'm very happy about this purchase - but haven't yet tried out the belts but the delivery was very fast - much faster than cross-Canada.
Stefan, maybe you were just unlucky??
