My Morrisonite piece arrived and I am a little disappointed. The piece is 4x3x 2.5 going to a knife edge. It was suppose to contain 4 slabs and that is probably correct. The piece on the left is a slab from my inventory and I was reluctant to cut if because it might be more valuable as a slab. The piece is not as nice but decent. My slabs vary from nice scenes to boring dark brown. I haven't used the slab saw for a while so it will be an opportunity to remember how to cut. I'll glue the face to the board and cut from the knife edge. Photographed wet.

It looks good to me, I hope that you show the slabs once you cut it.
Peace, Rich

What a disaster. I made two cuts to create a skinny end cut, another cut to make a skinny slab and then the blade started to bind. I didn't want to take the rock out of the vise, played with the feed speed and completed it. I sharpened the blade and revised the rock. it still bound no matter what I did. I reversed the blade and it wobbled. I removed it and it seemed flat. I gave up. The last and best slab is partially cut and stuck on the board. The last cut was leaving 1/16" so I'll figure out what to do using the trim saw. The picture is somewhat brighter than reality.

Dang Sure am sorry. It'll be better when you get back to it after thinking on it. You're smart and experienced so you'll be making lemonade after you think on it for a while. Good Luck..

I use floor sealer as adhesive and it will dissolve in water. I'll put the slab away until I'm ready to cab it. I'll draw the design on the face, trim it and then trim off the bottom to get the right thickness. I'm not planning on using the slab saw any time soon.
It's a Covington 16" combo saw that my wife bought for me in 2007 and didn't use until I retired in 2014. The feed system gives me fits. I got a lot of slabbing done

For mine, I have noticed that if the cut is close to the top of the blade it binds. I need to see if I can adjust the vice table/feed more perpendicular to the blade. Let's agree to start a thread of we find a solution

I soaked the slab off the board. 4x3. Picture is representative except for the blue edge.
