OK, just got an E-Mail from Kingsley-North after I sent them a note wondering where the heck my three books are that I ordered awhile ago so I'd have something new to read at the ranch ( no TV or computer there). I paid for priority shipping so I should have had them days ago. Well, they informed me one was backordered so they were holding everything till they got that one book. I know this is a small thing but it pisses me off! They should, at the very least, have informed me that one book was out of stock and given me the option of backordering or skipping that book so I could get the others in a timely manner. Or even better, they should have shipped the first two and then the other when they got it in. Actually, when you order via their website, it should have said out of stock when I typed in the friggin order . I swear, the folks at some businesses are so friggin dim witted and inconsiderate it make me want to scream!....mel

Well, I sent them a note to complain and they said they were sorry and said it just got by them and offered to ship however I'd like them to ship. It's too late now to do me any good so I said they could go ahead and wait for the other book before they shipped but I feel better now because at least they acknowledged the problem. *S*....mel

Hmmm seems to be an alarming trend in the Lapidary shops as of late- Crappy Customer Service. This industry really ain't big enough to give lousy service-

I'm really surprised to hear that about Kingsley. They are really a great bunch of people. I've talked to them on the phone several times and they are real rock people. If things are running a little rough, there must be some reason.

ps. Maybe it's the lack of snow that we're experiencing!

My friend ordered a grinding disc and when it did not come after two weeks, he called and was told it had been backordered by Crystalite and that they had just forgot to pass on that information.
I think they must be short-staffed in the office.
Still, it is only Kinksley and a handful of other companies that even provide web sites to lookup an dorder a wide array of things we need.
BTW - Mel, what was on your reading list?

Daniel: I had ordered John Sinkankas' third volume of Gems of North America, The Fairburn Agate book and a how to on wire wrapping. Yeah, that's what they told me too " Someone had forgot to pass on the information!"....mel
