Did anyone notice that at mid morning that the sunlight outside reverted to looking like it does just before sunrise?

Eclipse here in Colorado. Your closer to the total eclipse than us so you will get more effect. Or it could be an alien invasion.. grin

Not maxed out yet here in Florida, 'nother half hour. We only get 81% anyway at best.
Watching through telescope. Smaller 90mm scope, don't have sun filter for big scope.
Cloud break right now. It's pretty cool, about 1/3rd covered now. Minimal Sun spot activity today.
stoopid clouds
Can't believe folks are traveling hundreds of miles to view it, especially with just normal eyesight, but okay.

I noticed that though the sky was clear, the light on the ground was a little darker than usual. Neat eclipse!

Just figured to turn on TV. It's live there. Interviewing folks in Missouri that traveled to view. It's cloudy there. That would suck driving a long way, hotel etc and then clouds. Almost 1/2 gone here.

Did anyone get their favorite rocks and crystals out to bathe in the mystical powers of the eclipse shadow?

Did anyone notice that at mid morning that the sunlight outside reverted to looking like it does just before sunrise? I blame climate change er global warming (space reserved for new catch phrase) and Confederate statues. Heard there's a video someone blaming it on racism, you can't make that sh!t up.

Well, this stoopid person, was there 600ft from the centerline of totality. There were telescopes with neutral density and H alpha filters, but for me, the best view of all was naked eye of the corona during totality. That was awe inspiring. Like Anne we had 360° sunset but we're unable to see stars only planets, Venus being notable. And since I waited about 45 years after learning of the concept "solar eclipse", now that I have seen one, I had as amazing a day as Anne did! But when we arrived home I had a box that I cannot talk about. Xmas present for "someone".... Shhhh ETA Hey Bob what kinda scope is your big one?

We had about 88% coverage. It was super cool even it wasn't full. I think the best part of the eclipse for me was seeing so many kids outside excited about it. I live in a low income neighborhood, so when I saw a group of about 7 kids sharing one pair, it made me very happy to give them another pair. They were so excited about it! My grandkids were not impressed with the eclipse, initially. When the sun began looking like a bitten cookie, they were super stoked. They really enjoyed it. I consumed adult beverages, checked every few minutes or so and enjoyed the day. It didn't get real dark, but the shade was eerily darker and cooler.

Lol the four folks that did didn't need to.
