Last year I spent my time at the Coliseum, & its parking lot & at the InterGem show at the Mart (my wife bought lots of beads). There was a show at the Ramada & a hotel across the street. There were some vendors at the Ramada that we bought from, but mostly it was mineral specimens sold out of individual hotel rooms. I hear that the Ramada won't host any dealers this year. Not sure what was at the other hotel. I only bought a drill system there. There's a show at the mart that costs to get in. I didn't go to that one. There are a couple of other shows scattered around Denver. Google is your friend. Lynn

Thanks, Bill for saying nice things about our work. Pics when I have more free time.
There's a building just north of the Coliseum within walking distance. Walk under the freeway. It has a few vendors with mass produced stuff from Madagascar, India etc. There was a guy from Minnesota there that had great Laguna Lace with reds - $4 & $7/lb. He also had good Mookaite & Noreena jasper for $4/lb. Another guy in the building was from Moab & had good Gem Dino Bone. Lynn

Denver is miniature Tucson. Maybe a dozen or so shows around town. I will be in tent 9 outside the Coliseum. Please introduce yourself. In the past the Coliseum was the biggest show, free and abundant parking. Inside the arena they had fossils, mineral dealers etc. Outside many tents with everything from equipment to wholesale and retail everything rock related. At same location was the Miners Coop. Everyone supposed to be selling their own mined products. Like a laid back tailgate show. They are redoing that whole area so most of last year's tent dealers are across the street in two floors of the National Western facility. I understand parking at Coliseum will be limited but there is a walkway under the freeway to walk between locations. Miners Coop is outside the NWC this year too. The original Merchant Mart shows have been shrinking each year. The fossil show there moved to Coliseum last year and the jewelry show this year out somewhere else too. They have the Denver club show there with some nice displays and mostly finished goods dealers. They charge admission. There are usually shuttles between shows too.

I'm going to make it to at least one of the days, probably Friday. I went last year and only saw one little corner I think it was the merchandise mart. Would love to get some good rough jasper or something unique. It's fun just to lay eyes on all those different kinds of rocks.
My friends say I'm approaching hoarder status with my rocks but it's not like they go bad or anything...

You would likely find more rough at the Coliseum show or the neighboring Miner's Coop. Towards the end of the show even the big wholesale only guys start selling small lots.

Tell him that you been selling his stuff on RTH and he owes taking you fossil hunting. grin Paid in full already I bet.. Maybe tell him bring some of those broken ammonites you been cutting the neat cabs from. Different material and not everyone needs perfect specimens. Would they make interesting tumbles?

Here's the show spiel from XPO Express.
For ten days in Denver, Colo., eleven separate shows feature over 900 vendors and exhibitors, each displaying and selling their gems, minerals, fossils, jewelry, and lapidary tools and supplies.
For world-class mineral specimens don’t miss the Denver Fine Mineral Show at the Denver West Marriott (off of I-70 and Denver West Parkway in Golden, Colo.), the longstanding, prestigious Colorado Mineral & Fossil Show (which has relocated further east at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Aurora, Colo.), the Denver Gem & Mineral Show (known as “The Main Show” at the Denver Mart at I-25 and 58th Ave.), or the new Denver Mineral Show at the National Western Complex.
You can always find a hidden gem or mineral treasure at the massive Denver Coliseum Show (DCS), or across the highway at the Denver Expo Gem Show at the National Western Complex, the Jewelry, Gem & Mineral (JG&M) Expo at Quality Inn Central Denver (with a few fine metaphysical mineral vendors on the second floor), the Colorado Independent Warehouse Show (located in the west suburb of Lakewood, Colo.), or the Miners Co-op Mineral Show in the DCS rear parking lot.
For fossils, Denver hosts one of the highest concentration of fossil dealers found anywhere in the world, especially at the shows at the National Western Complex and Crowne Plaza Hotel in Aurora. Jewelry and bead lovers’ shows are the International Gem & Jewelry Show and Bead Renaissance, both at the Denver Mart and both open concurrently with the "Main Show" at the Mart

Once I got the slab saw, that's when I really started hoarding :-) Wow, so much to see. My girlfriend's schedule is Friday but I'm probably going to hit some of the other shows during the week also.

Will be talking to you as the show gets closer Tim. Will probably cut each other's trail at some point or points. Missed each other at Buena Vista Cya there !
