I see why you're amused. This next statement is almost heresy around here, but:
"It's just a rock, dude!"

Someone with mediocre rock going a bit manic in the "rock description" and "business vision" department siting around photographing wet rocks on their bathroom shelf. More sad then amusing, but it was kinda interesting to see.
If fairly common lapidary rock is offered at starting bids of $5 to $8 a lb, id don't see this business going very far. Especially not before the meds kick in.

I'm taking the e-bay post as "tongue-in-cheek."
If it was meant to be serious, another deluded sole...

here's what i got out of it:
"1ea. 1lb 1.25oz Cave creek jasper commodity 3.8"x 2.4"x 2.0" measured at largest point.Displayed wet."
oh yeah and it came from arizona lol.
and that i'm so grateful i don't have to have a conversation with them. my brain would explode.

"gemmy" is vendorspeak for "possessing very attractive gemlike qualities"

Yeah, sort of like "gemish." Technically it can be called whatever stone it's supposed to be but it's not quite cab or facet quality.

He has quite a few auctions, and they all read like that, 1st time I saw one, I thought pretty rock, not worth what your asking, not investment I would make. Terry

Interesting thing is that a lot of the bids recieved are from folks with a fair amount of feedback. WOnder what they see in the material.
