hello, im from the orlando area and i am kinda resurrecting my old hobby now. i learned faceting and a little cabbing as a high schooler in the 1970s and did it on and off the next 10 years and then put it away, well this year i got the bug again and bought a faceting machine and a cabbing machine . theres not a lot of rockhounding in florida except for fossil hunting . im getting a little excited to really learning to cut some black opal although its pricey. i have a graves mark 1 faceter and a kingsley north 6 wheel diamond machine . i would be glad to communicate with other members .

Welcome (again)! There may not be many rocks in your area, but there are some members here from your neck of the woods. I'm in Va.

Another welcome from Michigan. ChicagoDave just took up faceting too. You two might learn something from each other.

Welcome and a big Colorado Howdy. Yep ChicagoDave is your man here. As far as rocks you can trade some corals and teeth for rocks from other members in other parts of the country. Also a good group to hook up with someone for a road trip to collect out west or Texas. Besides captbob has most of the western rock in Florida. Notice the state sinking lately?

Welcome from Ohio. I'm just a tumbler, but I've seen a LOT here for cabbers!
