Damn. Are you or your property in any danger? Haven't heard anything about the fires y'all are having.

The apples dont fall far from the tree. We have a fair share of them to. This was 10 min from the claims. Tossed cigarette from a vehicle started it. They got the upper hand on it fast.

Damn. Are you or your property in any danger? Haven't heard anything about the fires y'all are having. That's because the media is too busy belittling Trump. Most people in Canada don't know how bad it is in BC. It's a disaster that the MSM refuses to cover. Must not be able to blame it on Trump. So far 1,175,051 hectares have burnt in BC. 1 hectare equals 2.5 acres. bcfireinfo.for.gov.bc.ca/hprScripts/WildfireNews/Statistics.asp

Caught this one burning heading west over Rodgers pass. Was contained to just one side of the hwy on fri, but by the time I came back on mon it had jumped across. The BC area is extremely dry as you can tell below. Smoke got real heavy at times rock hounding. Stay safe and be careful breathing all that smoke.

I'm very sad for your situation up there. If it weren't for you, I would not have known about it. What a HUGE horrible tragedy. Yes, stay safe.

I'm very sad for your situation up there. If it weren't for you, I would not have known about it. What a HUGE horrible tragedy. Yes, stay safe. Funny how the west is burning up and very few know about it. But on the other hand. An Antifa snowflake gets his ass kicked by a patriot and the whole world knows about it seconds later. Copied this response from a friends Facebook page in Montana. There seems to be a lot of misconception about how logging can increase fire survivability for our western forests..... I'm currently disrupting the fire ladder fuels on the Sheep Gap Fire, near Plains Montana.....we are primarily removing, only the small unhealthy Douglas Fir, while leaving the fire resistant Ponderosa Pine very much alive, healthy and well......when the fire arrives, which is still a half a mile away, it will, in all likelihood drop out of the canopy and burn beneficially across the ground.....my prediction stems from personally witnessing this same fire ladder interference succeed on several occasions during this horrific fire season.............Even though I've seen several Montana forests reduced to a moonscape recently, I maintain a firm belief that the true threat facing our western forests is the misuse of the 'equal access to justice' act, in which, greedy lawyers, who've disguised themselves as environmentalists have gotten rich by simply stopping all forest management through the appeals process.....win or lose, they still receive a paycheck from the federal government.......we must, not only repeal this law before it's too late.....but also begin asking ourselves, why is the court system involved in decisions, exceeding its realm of understanding.....

How utterly frustrating this must all be. Lawyers, damn lawyers.

Another big factor is controled burns have literally disappeared? The best tool to fight wildfire is burning off fuel before it's spread. With hundreds of wildfires searing B.C.'s Interior and more unusually hot, dry weather on the horizon, experts warn that this may be the new fire season normal, and the best prevention — is setting preventative fires. The traditional practice of setting preemptive or prescribed burns to get rid of underbrush and create fire stops — scorched ground to stop fire's spread — has fallen off, and experts say that's putting people at risk and costing millions. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british-columbia/wildfires-bc-smoke-prescribed-burns-fire-interior-displaced-evacuees-1.4198057
