Shawn is absolutely awesome! I ordered my Lot O finally after lots of saving from jewelry I've been selling. I ordered a rock hunting book about 2 1/2 weeks ago, it was mailed 2 weeks ago, still waiting. I ordered my Lot O Thursday afternoon and guess what was sitting at the front door before 4pm today........and she is running rocks right now! Shawn is terrific, answered all my emails right away! Yay! Congrats on the Lot-O, Sandy. Mine is merrily grinding away right now too. It's about time for me to go clean up and see what comes out.
Yeah, Shawn is great. I'm going to have to place another order with him soon.

Yep, I was preparing for it already. It's a big cement block, weighs around 40 pounds, then set it in a bedroom that has the rotary (with tray under it). I have a big modular home and the bedroom is at the far corner. I was worried with a modular it would vibrate the entrie house, but no problems. I can hear it in my laundry room as it butts up against that room.

Shawn is a good dude. I just hate Fed X. Every box I get from them is chewed up very bad. I would say 3 out of 5 orders I get, which are at least 45# bags of grit are ripped open and out of 45# about 3/4# of grit are in the bottom of the box mixed together. I call Shawn back every time and he says he'll take care of me. I just ordered 55# of stuff last friday and he quoted me for shipping then asked if I wanted he could load it all in a few flat raters but it would cost ME more in shipping. I felt that all the times he told me he would take care of it for me he could have picked up the extra $9 for the flat raters. I also ordered 46/70 from Miles. 50# comes out to .65 a pound compared to $2.75 a pound from T.R.S. I also ordered 220 from Miles, 50# comes out to $1.83 a pound compared to $3.50 a pound. I will say if the next box gets here this week all chewed up I will be getting all my grit from Miles...

I had problems with Fed X on my order from Shawn too. Ruined my Valentines day. Maybe we should tell Shawn and get him to switch to UPS or something.

I've never had a problem receiving shipments from either FedEx or UPS. I receive from both a lot. Now being the shipper, I have to use FedEx as it so much cheaper. This is the 3rd box I've gotten from Shawn and no problems so far!

Never a problem here. The service may have been a bit less personal for a week or two last month because of buying trips to Tucson.

i still say it has to do with where you are and who is workin on your route i got many boxs from shawn and dont think i ever got a banged up box when i was in philly with fedx -- and thats pretty far away from him -- now the post office usta bring my boxs ripped retaped stuff fallin out haha they where bad and dhl was a disgrace i had two things shipped with them and both boxs where in pieces -- ups was a crap shoot might be ok might be mangled -- but since i been here i have had acouple things shipped ups and the boxs looked new not a dent

My box wasn't banged up. The problem was the driver didn't feel like delivering it and claimed I wasn't home when he tried to deliver it. I was home as well as my husband and both our kids. One son was even outside playing when he claimed to have tried to deliver the package. That truck did not drive down my road that day so went spent Valentines evening waiting on a truck that wasn't going to show up even though Fed X tracking said it was supposed to.
I don't really have any interest is using Fed X again and would gladly pay extra to not have to wait on the Fed X driver to get in the mood to work again. That's not the first time he's done that. He did the same thing to my neighbors with an overnight delivery package. It was an insurance check they were desperate for and believe me they aren't in any mood to use Fed X again either. UPS I don't mind even if they are slower. They've always delivered on the day they say they loaded the package on the truck. At least I have a little warning when to stay home and wait without putting my life on hold.

If Fed Ex is a problem- FILE A CLAIM!!!!! Seriously- it only take 1 or 2 claims and the drivers will catch hell! And they are fast at paying the claim!

Can't file a claim unless the contents of the package are destroyed. I did complain though. Fed X seemed very interested in what I had to say. I do give them that. When the box finally did arrive the driver didn't knock or blow the truck horn. He just quietly left the package on the porch and took off in his truck as fast as he could. I saw him as he was leaving. lol

They are like ups, the sender has to file the claim. Shawn never filed one for me. Today I got my box, and I'll be dipped in shit, and called an idiot, there was no damage to the box this time!!!

I`ve always gotten a-1 service from The Rock Shed,Shawn has always helped me if i was having a problem with their products,i`ve gotten good service from Fed Ex and UPS the problem i have is with the mailers our local PM opens every package,he tears open a corner for inspection for bombs i guess but he doesn`t reseal it. So what i do when i send something to somebody i put it into a zip lock baggie then if the PM wants to do his little thing nothing spills out.........Rocky
