Did a bit more slabbing yesterday.... Obsidian, agates and thundereggs... Some Obsidian....
This is Polka Dot agate, from central Oregon....The Indians use to pile wood, trees and brush against these agate walls and set fires to them for days at a time, than throw water on the walls to get a fast cool down, which would fracture the agate wall... Easy pickings than... This wall is still there,so I grabbed a lot of material from that little area too.. Its all treated,by the Indians..
I also got some untreated material also.....
Also cut some of this unknown agate.....Feels like Opal, but just don't know...
Also cut a few thundereggs.........
Don't like this one,so will slice it up and cab it,see what happens...
Not a bad egg...
The caps were missing on this guy,so will be cutting it too and cabbing it..

Nice obsidian, looks like Glass Buttes material. That's interesting about the polka dot agate, it might knapp nicely. I've also found heat treated material in wyoming.

You got some great cuts there. And very interesting about the history of the polka dot agate. Stories like that are so intriguing to me.
