Very, very nice! You have a nice flow. That shows good control over the wire.

Thank you Tela.
One of my main problems is my ability to focus on the project... I mean literally FOCUS! My glasses prescription probably needs to be updated. With or without glasses, I had a lot of problems counting the number of wraps and determining the order of the three main square wires. Using drug store magnifying glasses for reading did not work very well. I ended up using the 2X magnifying lens from my rock tumbling display case to see what I was doing. I just placed an Amazon order for a hobby magnifier light with extender arm that anchors to the side of the table... that should help.
Another item that I think might come in handy are a couple of common wooden cuticle sticks that some manicurists use to push a person's hand/feet cuticle down from the nails. It might help when it comes to "tweaking" the soft wire into a smooth shape.
'Also need to hit the jaws of the flat nosed pliers with 600 grit sand paper to smooth out the sharp edges... keep them from scoring the wires...
...And the list goes on... and on... and on... And so does the learning!
As I said... FUN!

I love your wrap. The way your loops at the top are so smooth yet not symetrical and balanced out by the bottom loops, shows that you have an artistic flair.
You are also already figuring out a few of the tips and tricks. I touch up my plier edges with a small metal file. I also use a magnifying lamp. Would not be able to wrap without it. I also use my reading glasses with the lamp. You will find uses for all kinds of things. My tools include an old pen with ink cartridge removed, a burnishing tool, the edge of the table, and a small straight blade screwdriver.
I too started out with Randy's tutorial, as have many of us here. You already show talent, there is no end to what you can do with practice.
Very nice wrap.

Thank you Amyk. I will do a few more copper before shifting to other metals, and I must explore various methods of trapping the stone and creating different bales. I have 3 women and a 6-yr old grand daughter that I am trying to create gifts for. I want to be able to give each something different in the way the stone is woven into the mounts. Gosh!... my boys are so much easier to please! The girls all want the frilly stuff... you know... the harder stuff. I almost feel overwhelmed. Oh well...

WOW!! Amazing wrap for your second. You really do have a natural ability. You have some very lucky ladies in your life! Before my first silver class this spring I bought an OptiVisor which helped so much, I used them for everything I did in the class.

Thank you all! I will have to checkout the OptiVisor as a solution for my focus problem. All Hallows Eve is just around the corner. I need to wear something to scare the trick-or-treaters at the door as I give out candy. Thank you again.

VEry, very nice. I understand about the focus problems. I use a lighted magnifier like you are purchasing, plus a smaller magnifying glass on top of that. Periodically use both of those, plus a loop.

I always had 20/20 eyesight. When I hit 40 my sight went downhill fast. I got real depressed about it because wrapping was so hard to do. My husband ran out and came home with a pair of optivisors. OMG! It was like I had my life back! They are awesome. I wear them for everything. A few years ago, I bought some for him. You should see us talking to each other across the table while we do our hobbies. Both of us with our noses high in the air! Too funny. No, not all attractive, but very useful.

I followed the same tutorial and my wire and stone ended up across the room multiple times. That's not me blaming the tutorial either! You did a great job on this wrap. Keep up the good work!

I understand Dave! Note that this thread in titled "Second Attempt..." LOL!!!
During the "First Attempt" I miss-measured lengths and got my placements a bit off. I also didn't respect how a "HALF" round wire wrapped around another wire... "wrap-wrap-wrap..." turned into "whip/twist- whip/twist- whip/twist... etc...." It all looked a bit squirrely. Instead of throwing it all away, I am using the wire to practice on.... Then I will throw it away...
BTW... I just received a Brightech LightView LED Desk Lamp (magnifier light setup), and have an OptiVisor on the way. I plan on being able to see the next project!
