Lookin interesting Mr. Bill. Flash, I bet you know, depends on how you cut and the quality. Maybe like some of the obsidian that fossilman cuts. Mike might have a couple suggestions for yah. Looks pretty good from here.

So is there a company currently mass mining this stuff? Not to my knowledge , have to know someone who knows someone who has access to areas where it can be picked . The price from toivo is less than I can get the stuff around here .

So is there a company currently mass mining this stuff? The answer to mass mining is no. I believe the area it comes from NW of Wausau WI is just a 3 or 4 square mile area of farm land. From what I heard their used to be a quarry but the guy who owned it let it fill with water and built a house. All hear say though. I have been through the area and found nothing. I got this material from an estate I bought, though I might get acess to more with luck.

A friend of mine has picked quite a bit , was there this spring . We are going to try to get over there this fall .

I got my box of moonrock from toiv0 yesterday . Lighting wasn't the best so I looked it over today . I was a little disappointed at first , but when I rinsed it off some , the blue flash came alive . This is going to be some fun stuff to play with , either cut and cab or bust and tumble .

If you're a little off on the cut the flash goes to silver or none, then it has to broke and tumbled. The orientation can change after a few cuts also.

I agree , it does take a little practice to get used to this material .
