Ok, I went back and grouped the geodes and took new pictures; Group 1 - These 3 all look the same and had the same outer skin; DSC_0075 by Findrocks, on Flickr Group 2 and Group 3 were all the same type; Group 2 DSC_0079 by Findrocks, on Flickr Group3 DSC_0076 by Findrocks, on Flickr Group 4 - seemed different from previous groups, closer to Group 1 DSC_0081 by Findrocks, on Flickr Group 5 - last 2 DSC_0082 by Findrocks, on Flickr Thanks Henry

Thanks Hank, Pretty fun and we all love geodes. . Maybe Craig will come along again and comment on the types so you can put the names of each type for future members. Maybe get him to post a bunch of his. Are the rivers and creeks going down some around you yet? Couple more weeks for the creek collecting to be started I bet. Wonder if Jeremy is going to hit it hard with all the newly exposed material just waiting for you guys. smile..

Hi all
Here's what I see. #1 looks like Trancas. More from the interiors than anything else. #2 and #3 look like potato geodes. The top one in #3 could be a red skin, but the rind doesn't really appear red enough. #4 looks more like a Dugway then before. That rind is classic, as stated by Rocks2Dust, even if the outer skin is not. And Scott's right on the money with the coconuts. I will try to take the time today or tomorrow to take some pics of some geode varieties I have so you can see the ones I'm basing my guesses on.
