I have done business with Richardsons for many years and I have nothing but good to say about them!!! I have never mail ordered but I do know they try their best to pick out what you describe...If you go there in person, one word of caution, do not hit the rocks lol. I was there one afternoon and there was about a dozen rockhounds come in and some had been drinking and one fella took and was windowing rocks and oh man major butt chewing as they have a sign up-no rock hitting. At any rate they are good, down to earth people. -Dale Rhode

I have looked at their site time and time again- every time I get ready to make a purchase- Something comes up (in other words I pick up something on the board instead!!) But they have good pricing and a nice selection-

Wow - the prices seem extremely reasonable. Better prices than I've found elsewhere on the net, at least. Depending on shipping, the prices are actually better than the ebay prices for many of those same materials.

Yes, it has me wondering about the UPS cost for 50lbs of rock.

I think we're going to plan a camping trip down there this summer. Thanks for the thoughts. Tammy

I've been there before. Great people. If you can't trust them- we're all in bad shape.

" one fella took and was windowing rocks "
What does this mean?

To window a rock is to take a hammer or a harder rock and pop the end of the rock, thus breaking the end cap off so that one can see whats inside the rock...Most all their rock is already windowed by the many miners they buy from and many people don't know the proper was to hit a rock to get the least amount broken off...Isami (Biggs Jct) taught me the best way and thats to visualize hitting the very last 1/4" of the rock, works great... -Dale Rhode
