Zacatecas are my favorite Mexican geodes because of their varied and spectacular interiors, and they can be huge. Although they range in size from a few inches to a couple feet, all of the geodes pictured here are at least 10 inches across. The centers are filled with clear rock crystal, amethyst, often coated with druzy, white quartz crystals, clear druzy over colored agate and any of the above accented with dogtooth calcite. Most centers are star shaped.
