They looked like heroes Bill but they are actually scum balls.

Dragging lures across the white sand beds using polaroid sunglasses to get the mother bass to lift the lure off the bed. Then snagging them.
Not sportsman like at all. I think Mom and Dad bought rich boys nice boats and they are making themselves look like pros on video.
That would be February/early March. They should shut the bass fishing down during that time period so these guys are not allowed to do this.
Most of the locals and me would prefer to cuss them out.

And passing a fisherman at high speed not 100 feet away.
The guy parked fishing should have cast his lure and snagged one of them.
Or tossed them an anchor.
It was probably their buddy, that's fine.

The salt content feeding that waterway is salty. Never know what you might catch. Salt or freshwater. Lots of ~50 pound tarpon and mullet.
The tarpon will spool your reel in about 10 seconds lol zzzzzzzzzzz and snap, line is all gone. Lest you have heavier tackle. Tarpon don't play.
Blue crab, croakers, red fish, flounder, tilapia, other ocean dwellers that have come 125 miles upstream.

The water flows fast in that run and the gators are athletic dealing with the current.
They call them river gators. 10 feet a trophy, 12 feet is a relative trophy from the lazy lake.
All the water is less than 6 feet deep there.

Salt Springs is a 2nd magnitude spring @ 50 million gallons/day. Basically a healthy river.
