Hi you all, we made it through. Things aren't too bad here. Need to fix some things on the house, the yard is a total mess but we are fine. Just thought I'd let you know. Got electric back 5 days ago & Comcast 3 days ago, although the TV is not quite up to par yet.

Thanks for checking in Donnie! News we get is about how bad the Keys were hit. Sounds like you were lucky and made out okay. Have friends further down the Keys that I haven't heard from yet. Hope "back to normal" doesn't take too long.

Good thing that you Conches are so resilient. Am sure that your house has enough rock weight in it to get past 500 mile an hour winds. grin Glad you have the power and web back.

Glad everything is pretty much ok. I'm also glad I live in Michigan during hurricane season. In a couple of months, I might not be so happy about living in Michigan.

I was worried about my crates of rocks becoming flying debris. Heck, not a one was out of place except for the ones I moved from off the porch into the bushes & they were only out of place because I put them out of place. Not believing for a next time but given the same situation I won't even bother. Even the bird aviaris stood strong but then there was no wind resistance since the wind just blew through them & not against them. Had all the bird cages in the house as well as 2 red footed tortoises, 3 cats, 4 dogs & 5 guinea pigs. We had a full house! We parked the cars on the front porch in front of the doors & windows so that sort of protected them.

I am so glad to hear that you are OK. Also Donnie, thank you for checking in with your fellow rockers to let us know that you are well. I am sorry to hear about the home and yard damage, but that can be replaced or repaired. That is not true of you and your family!

Great to hear you are ok. The damage they show on the news is devastating. Happy the animals are ok too. What kind of birds do you have?

Hey Meviva, still pretty busy dealing with hurricane related issues here. We have a hyacinth macaw, blue & gold macaw, Panama amazon, blue front amazon, female eclectus, cockatiel & an umbrella cockatoo.

Nice to see that it wasn't too bad for you...everything being relative. Regards. Dave
