Big camera. Stabilizer is built into camera instead of lens, unique. Allows use of non-stabilized lenses. A whole 6 mega pixels. Lens is 28 - 75mm Tamron. Tamron SP AF Aspherical XR Di. About $500 new on Amazon, must be a decent lens. It is quite complicated. Sony bought Konica in 2006, may have terminated production. Body lay out similar to D series Nikon DSLR. Will try it out. Good luck with your new toy!😀 I guess this one would qualify as vintage in this digital age Pat. 14 years old is quite old in this industry.

I loved my very ancient Nikon with, I think, 3 massive mega pixels. The lens was awesome. It was just a superior camera in all respects. Beats the 2 I have now. I would still use it if it had more pixels. You'll probably really enjoy this.

Really though I shoot an old canon 20d 6 mega pixels it is a semi-pro body, My buddy shoots a new rebel with 18. We both prefer my camera body. Unless you are blowing things up to poster size it is fine. Vic

Garage Rocker zekesmanI read an article about (old)6M 12M (new)25M cameras. It can be a deceptive measure. As you guys are insinuating, old well made optical sensors are well made and perform well. Limits blowing things up. But an electronic sensor can probably made better with less pixels(larger pixels). They probably loose accuracy with increased density. Rest assured the optical sensor will do nothing but improve. Much attention on their improvement for security to satellite. I think my ~2005 Nikon D70 is 6M. does darn nice photos.

Getting where the auto focus can focus better than manual mode. The manual focus window does have an adjustment to offset bad eyes. Must learn how to calibrate it. For your macros of your jewelry, the 3M would seem to work.

Wife has a D90. Sure seems like she gets better color than the D70. She uses a longer Nikkor lens. Need to sneak it away and do some shots. Dang lens mount is screwed into plastic. D90 body is plastic, ridiculous. Heavy lens and heavy camera - striped the screws out of the plastic body. we fixed it(can't remember how).
