Wondering if anyone has ever seen this type of spider before and know what it is. It was on the wall the other night and I generally leave spiders alone unless they are dangerous to Jax so I would like to know more about it in case I see the spider again. final2 by James Sloane, on Flickr final by James Sloane, on Flickr canvas by James Sloane, on Flickr

Green lynx spider, one of two Peucetia species found in the US ( Peucetia viridans and Peucetia longipalpis). The green lynx spider very seldom bites humans, and when it does, its venomous bite, though painful, is not deadly but may cause surrounding (edema) swelling up to 7"-10" in diameter. The species is primarily of interest for its usefulness in agricultural pest management, for example in cotton fields. From en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peucetia_viridans

Yes that is definitely it. Looked up more pics and found these: waynesword.palomar.edu/nikon4.htmWith all the new people who have moved in to Vegas we are getting all sorts of new critters not native to here. Used to be all we really had was the desert recluse and tarantulas. Now we have all sorts of different spiders, most are harmless. But if it looks even remotely like a recluse it gets stomped on. I have been bit and it is not fun. But my really dig concern is Jax getting bit by something.

Serious? People buy spiders? You're kidding, right? I have nothing against spiders other than heavy objects when I see them.

I love those. See them on my property around the pond.
