Not great? CAn appreciate a fellow perfectionist, but give a break to the newbies. They my end up afraid to post photos of anything, lol. Awesome variety you have there. Were they tumbled together? Thanks Yes everything was tumbled together in all stages. No thickeners added in stage one rotary and normal grits and times in the lot-o. Rotary as long as necessary and 2 days per stage lot-o. Just a one of a kind small rock so I can't help with ID. Would like about three pounds of it though. Maybe Sabre52 might know? Chuck

My favorite is the same as Randy's. Is the rock in pic 7 gowganda tillite? That rock is definitely not Gowganda. The red in that one is not granite. Funny that you should mention it though. I hardly ever tumble Gowganda but I had a decent one in this batch. I took it out and set aside after 24 hrs in polish so it was not photographed with the others. Here it is. Not my favorite type of rock but it is local. Chuck I've only tumbled gowganda once or twice and it undercut terribly like the rock in your original post. That rock is undercut, right? If so, I admire your honesty in posting a close up of it. The gowganda in this post looks pretty good, probably better than most pudding stones I tumble.

My first thought was crazy lace, but it's much more yellow than any I have. I stopped guessing at laguna. Thanks again. Dave

I've tumbled many miscellaneous rocks I've picked up in mixed boxes that I wish I could ID. Not the strong part of my game. I can get the easy ones that we could all figure out.

I didn't get back to your Laguna Agate photos, so I had nothing to reference. I just recall it was pretty amazing stuff. Dave

I like this one! What is the striped one in the group shot, at about 5 o'clock? A piece of Fordite?
Yep that one was Fordite. I tumble all my Fordite scraps. They sell really quick at shows for $2 each.

Not great he says...for a newbie like me these are spectacular! Thank you- My tumbling standards have consistently evolved over the years. What I thought were good batches years ago have been re tumbled as my experience level increased. This particular batch is plenty shiny but lacking the WOW factor that comes with high end material.
