I don't know about any of you, but I have been looking for a vise like this for years! Its small (for jewelry) it can be mounted with screws or a removable clamp... and most importantly it swivels, but not just any swivel. It swivels down in front of the table! Awesome sauce! Now I can sit in my work chair and have my work face me. This is made by the German company Proxxon, who are well known for quality. I was really surprised by the price. I thought it would be much more than 47.00. It is powder coated and the ball joint is smooth steel. It has removable and replaceable rubber jaw covers. I'm gonna get a lot of use out of this. Is that the 28608 ? That one is on my list. Let me know how it works. It looked very practical to me. And, I loved the price and manufacturers quality. I am sick and tired of sitting on the floor with my bolt on bench vice laying on its side. At least it is heavy enough to stay put when I am drilling/sawing.

It shipped super fast and it wasn't prime. It came from NC, though, which is right next door. I looked around for a cheaper one and couldn't find one. I am more than happy to pay 47. It's really good quality and got great amazon reviews.

Just checked. Local Home Depot is out of stock, so, can be shipped there by 10/19. Or, free shipping to me by 10/13. $45.80 plus tax. Hoping for a good weekend so I can afford it.

word of warning Tela... the table clamp section easily slides out of the base when moving the vice to another location. Beware of it falling out during transit and hurting a tootsie. Otherwise I have found mine to be very useful+++.

You are going to love that. I have a similar vice (some parts look identical) but mine has a suction base that I really like most of the time. If there is no smooth flat surface it won't suction and you are sol. I need a dedicated hunk of counter top that I can suction down to then clamp the whole thing to a table or the drill press. For most things they are too tall for the drill press but when flopped on their side or back they can be really handy.
Go easy on the rubber jaws because you can bite through them pretty easily. What surprises me the most about them is how tough the ball joint is. Never moves.

That looks really useful to flip the item down toward the front of the table. Mine doesn't allow that (I got the little green cheapie one on Amazon). If you haven't been using a vice, get ready to be soooo haaaaaapy!

This should really help.

It would always release at the worse time.

Not this one. Spray a little water on it and if the surface is good it will stay stuck for days. Jim

I very rarely use a vice but looks like a nice one. Went over to a neighbor to help him dig potatoes and he made me this little anvil out of a piece of steel and a big c clamp

Hey rockjunquie Thanks for sharing! I am going to be needing a good vise for my future shop So I just pulled the trigger on this vise you showed us. I have been procuring the necessary tools of the TRADE so to speak and have been selling my Tractor Inventory to give me the room. I was a good member and purchased on AMAZON for $43.53 I'm a Prime member so I get it for free shipping. Delivery time is not an issue because I haven't built my workbench yet. Cheers ~Duke

AZ didn't have it when I looked. You got it cheaper! I ordered on AZ, but not from az. It was another seller. OH WAIT! That's a different model. Mine is not suction.
