I did these posts to see how easy it worked was pretty surprised. I have a question for Tommy was this option enabled prior to you taking over? I have been using a hosting site but think I'll use this from now on. Is there enough storage available if everyone used this? Am I jut late to the party and everyone is using it?

I have been using a hosting site but think I'll use this from now on. Is there enough storage available if everyone used this? Am I jut late to the party and everyone is using it? Hi, thanks for asking. It requires an expensive monthly subscription with Proboards and had been activated in the past but reached capacity years ago and was shut off. I reactivated it again after shoring up our revenue streams to keep the cost covered. It's definitely not forum-friendly and sometimes I wonder (along with others I'm sure) if I did the right thing by activating it. For large established boards like us, Proboards has us every which way we turn. Having a forum with no attachment feature sucks but it's nearly impossible, not to mention very expensive to migrate to a new forum software. So to be able to upload photos they make you subscribe monthly to maintain a finite amount of storage space. When capacity is reached, no new attachments can be uploaded until you either, a) increase your storage subscription, or b) delete old attachments. All four options suck (do without, move the forum, increase monthly cost, delete old), so I made the decision to go this route and will manage it as long as I can. So... I would say to everyone please continue to use your host as much as possible and keep the attachment feature for the small incidental stuff that comes along the way. This is an article I posted about it recently: forum.rocktumblinghobby.com/thread/79551/article-topic-post-photos

Thanks Tommy I will go back to the hosting. I was afraid that the cost would be a problem. I guess PB isn't the only ransom site.

Please feel free to use the feature too - I also use it myself. When I'm posting a long trip report or a batch of new cabochons I would use either my host or Tapatalk - but for just grabbing a photo off the web or reposting something small the attachment feature is awesome to have available on the fly.
