Keep it real cool when you polish it, treat it like opal, get it too hot and it will flake off especially on the edges.
Meviva, I hope you enjoy working the material and hope you show us what you make out of it.

If I don't break it I'll post a picture before noon tomorrow  Miss Andrea i was sad when you out bid me but I am happy you got it. congrats. Waiting to see the second cab and might be sad again. |

Just so you know I stopped short of using a final polish on it. As Woodman said it's a opalized so I didn't want to take it to the next level of heat or risk breaking it. Because you are an excellent cabber yourself I thought I would leave it up to you if you think it needs a bit more polish or not. To me the shine is beautiful I would leave it as is. |

I hope you have lots of fun with the material, please show us what you get out of it! the root material could have fractures in it, i did not inspect them real close when i boxed it up. Hope you are pleased with it.
