In order to do a rainbow colored batch of tumbles, I find myself needing yellow material!
Preferably with a hardness between 5 and 8. I'm not experienced enough (at all) to try to attempt glass. I'm finding a nice yellow material hard to find. It'll have to be yellow enough that it clearly divides Lavic and Jade/Adventurine, if that sentence makes any sense...
Even if you don't have anything, suggestions and pictures always welcome!
I expect I'll settle on some sort of agate, seems like my best chance?
End cuts are fine, but I'd prefer something that will end up more rounded.
Thanks in advance!
P.S. If you have any green Aventurine or Amazonite I could use some more/larger pieces (1.5 inches to 2.5 inches). Or any nice greenish material really. Blue too, currently I have Lapis Lazuli and some Nelly Blue flint I picked up the other day, sodalite would be nice.

@shotgunner, how much for a SFRB? That'll be a good start! Still looking for more, I like a good mix of material!

Thanks, ChicagoDave. That yellow iron quartz looks good. I have some golden Tiger eye, but it's more orange I guess?

Too bad the Kentucky Agate is a tough tumble, because I don't think you can get more yellow than this...
With all the fractures, you really have to cut and pre shape to get good results. And a vibe tumbler is best. That is, if you aren't cabbing the stuff.

Sure am, melhill1659! How big are the pieces? I have some very nice but small pieces of Amazonite, I'd like some that is 1" up to about 3".

Wow! That is the perfect color! Anyone want to sell me some pre-shaped? I don't have much KY agate left, I sent about 25 lbs. to Fossilman and when I went back to my source, it was pretty picked over. I'll take a look and see if I have something you can use. If not, maybe he has some small pieces you could tumble.

Luminin , if you don't mind a little color other than yellow, nice tumbles can be had with this material. Yellow and black is the most common color combo.
I would go collect more to share with members, but it is hard as hell to find. I've spent many hours plodding through the creeks, but I have a job. In the area it's found, there isn't much wealth. There are people hitting those creeks daily, trying to make a buck off a resource they can sell. You have to be extremely lucky to come across a nice piece of agate. Just ask those that have participated in the organized agate hunts in the area.
