Have not been here in quite some time. Had a busy summer, and over the last month, a lot of time was taken up planing for the first time ever visit of a relative from my Austrian side here in Hong Kong. and a BBQ for nearly 20 people, up at the cabin. All done now. Was nice, but way to stressful to do regularly. All said, I still found some time in between to tinker with some stones. Continued to work on some breakaway from the slag received from England..... twosided breakaway Slag by Kainzer Kurt, on Flickr breakaway Slag by Kainzer Kurt, on Flickr And for our monthly challenge: I set out to make a leaf from a stone I found at one of our beaches here; still no idea what it is, but suspect it might be some type of amethrine. Then, thought of it as rather plain, and made a Fire Agate bug and a tiger-eye frog to fill the picture. In the picture, sanded up to 2000 grit paper (still not polished to-date) leaf by Kainzer Kurt, on Flickr Now, there should be more time for stones coming up....... Thanks for looking, remain with best regards, Kurt

Nice. The first one looks like a shark tooth and the second shark scales (dermal denticles).

Well done Kurt. At first glance I thought the leaf was real & it was 1 of your wonderful nature photos.

I liked the flows in the breakaway slag, and very much enjoyed the leaf and critters! Masterful! I look forward to the final polish. Your work continues to inspire me Kurt. Thank you!
