Be nice. I now I need more practice. White quartz pebble that I tumbled. 20 ga. round copper. It doesn't show well in the photo, but the bail binding is 24 ga.

Hey, nothing wrong with that. I've tried wrapping random shaped tumbles, it isn't easy. Nice work!

I have not tried that style of wrap. It looks great. The stone looks secure and a pleasing design.

Garage Rocker The trick I've discovered for random shaped stones is to keep it simple and only use one or two wires. I've thrown away about a pound of wire trying to do the fancy stuff on random yard stones while waiting for my first batch of tumbles to polish. (Maybe I lack the skill/patience/creativity that everyone here has?) orrum I used that milky because it was the only stone from my first tumble batch that was remotely conducive to being wrapped. I like milkies, too, especially when they have more brown pattern than this one. (And they're easy to polish!) Maybe I can create a niche market for simple sloppy wraps around white quartz jewelry. <laughing> Everyone else: Thanks for the undeserved compliments. (Undeserved because my prongs are not all the same.)

I love Milkies and have them all over the place.

Thanks, again, to everyone for the kind words. I'm visiting out of state family for the next several weeks. Should have lots of time to practice during the day while my kids and grandkids are at work/school and the wife is shopping. I expect to be at least as good as Tela when I get back. (Yeah...right...)

Don't be too hard on yourself. Many of my customers do not like symmetry or precision. After all, is life precise or symmetrical? Are natural stones, before shaping precise and symmetrical? Is anything in this world precise, symmetrical or predictable? No, no and no. My customers prefer stones and jewelry that is made from the heart. Made with their needs/wants in mind. One person even asked me to do a specific wrap on a Specular Hematite for a pendant. Simple twisted silver wire. Simple spiral wrap around the stone, with a few, uneven "lightening" bolts on the face. She loved it. As for being as good as Tela rockjunquie when you get back, I love your aspirations, as they are the same as mine. Will take some time for sure, but hey, if you are going somewhere, go big. ASpire to be the best, and learn from the best.

You know what they say.... practice makes perfect. Every wrap you do will be better than the last. Of course, you will have those odd ones in between that you'll want to chuck into the trash. LOL! Lord knows I've had plenty of those!
