Hi, I was just given a rock tumbler for my 60th birthday. I had one in the past, but eventually gave it away. I'm excited just thinking about all the fun my grandchildren and I are going to have looking for rocks to tumble. I live 90 minutes away from Cape May, New Jersey and other beach and bay areas. We find many interesting stones that are already a bit smooth, and also Cape May diamonds. Another idea I have is to find out how to polish old blown scrap glass. I have buckets full of culls from the glass factories that dumped in the woods near me. When it rains these rise to the surface again after decades buried in the ground. Most of these small bits of glass are near 100 years old. Looking forward to picking a few brains here about how to go about polishing the odd things we find.

Welcome from California. Can you post photos of the glass?

Welcome from Virginia! I can't wait to see some of that glass. I'm sure you'll get plenty of help in the forum for that.

These are the glass culls that were dumped over a hundred years ago from the local glass-making plant.

That glass looks great. Can probably make a lot of things with that.

kdrissel, Welcome from Southern Utah. Beachcombing was always my de-stresser. Finding rocks & glass to bring home & tumble is a plus. Lynn

Welcome, I'm a NJ transplant to Utah. There are several glass plants in So Jersey, if I'm not mistaken. I'm new to this hobby, too, lots of good information on here.
