In all the stress and confusion of the past several weeks I forgot to post that Bob and I got a pretty good deal on a 15# Thumler's Tumbler at www.lockstock.com = $127.50. It was purchased online and shipped and to our house all within five days. And now it's doing a really nice job on some of our rocks along with our other eight tumblers. ( I admit it, we've got it bad!) ;D Just thought I would pass along the info in case anyone has a tumbler on their Holiday Wish List. Lady B

That's a great deal. My cost is higher than that and Thumler's had them on backorder for several weeks.

They are supposed to be getting more in stock. In the meantime, they have the 12-pound tumbler for $105.

I got my dual 3 lb thumler there over a year ago for $79.95, but I think the price has gone up some. Terry

Hey Geogoddess, how much was shipping on the 15#er? I'd have to sign up to find out and it's easier just asking here

$13.95 I believe... UPS ground or USPS priority ground... total came out to ~$141. I went with UPS in order to track the shipment. Last I checked, said my order was "ready to pack".

They dropped a dollar off the shipping when it actually left the store. Although now.. tracking says its outside of Denver (11 hrs by mapquest's estimations), and the estimate delivery date is 1/11. So we'll see if UPS delivers it "early"

Well, Lady B & Geogoddess - Ya'll talked me into it (that's my story and I'm sticking to it) ;D I just ordered a 15 pounder and a 12 pound tumbler from this site. Then, I went to Miles Supply and ordered 50 pounds of SC 60/90 grit I figure if this doesn't get me motivated then nuttin' will. I really just wanted the barrels so I can figure out dimensions to build a multi-barrel tumbling contraption. I'll order more barrels once I build it and these 2 units with motors will come in handy if I ever have just a single load to run. So, thanks for the heads-up on this site. And, if my wife comes looking for ya... just give her a glass of wine, pat her on the head and send her home!

LOL I have plenty of wine to share... another one of my weaknesses besides rocks...
My only bitch about that order was the insanity of UPS's delivery. It shipped out from SD on monday, arrived in Denver, sat there for almost 24 hours, took 13 hours to get to Salt Lake city, spent close to 36 hours there.... before making it to Las Vegas to be delivered on Friday. Mapquest put the drive from Denver to LV as 11 hours. I could have driven to SD and picked it up faster (although it would have cost me more than $13 in gas).
