According to my calculations, these are my guesses. I’m a little confused by the format you want them in. You said pounds and ounces, but then said two decimal places. Do you want two decimal places on the pounds (no ounces), or a whole number of pounds and two places on the ounces? I’m assuming the former. 18.85 lbs. 19.34 lbs. 19.78 lbs. 20.42 lbs. 20.86 lbs. Thank you math teacher Rob! I suck at math and yes I have screwed this up haha. What I was going for was like what you have it - percentage of pounds on my scale (xx.xx). My tired brain thought that was ounces. I will edit the original thread to reflect this. I thought about restarting the contest but when doing the conversion from decimals of pounds to the equivalent ounces (xx and xx ounces) with some slight rounding required, nobody has guessed it exactly so lets continue on with the repair in place.

OK, here we go. Garage Rocker was the inspiration for this game when he recently mentioned my offcuts in what might be my one and only thread started in the Rock Tumbling section. Yes I do generate a boatload of scraps and yes there is some good stuff in there, and now you can have them for Thanksgiving Tommy's turkeys are a pile of mostly scraps of slab offcuts that didn't make the cut to become cabochons for whatever reason. The giveaway is TWO full containers as shown, one is stuffed full and one is almost full, one inch from the top. Both containers fit comfortably into a large flat rate box. These turkeys are a completely mixed lot, not matched for compatibility in any way and not processed for tumbling. The only measurements I can offer other than the pictures is that EVERY piece in both containers did NOT fall through a 1/2" square grate as shown in one of the pictures. The turkeys that did fall through the grate became my tumbling fodder and are not included. As shown in one of the photos, on to the top of one container I added two premium slabbettes of Morgan Hill poppy jasper suitable for cabbing. These were not offcuts - they were from my cabbing stash. This is a purely guessing game, no further clues will be given and the game will be monitored and stopped if the weight is guessed exactly. The game starts right now and ends when the exact combined weight of the dry rocks (minus all containers and packaging) is guessed. If the exact weight is not guessed the game ends at 8pm PST on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday 11/23. EDIT 11/19 - Format is in LBS as read by my scale - pounds to two decimal places (xx.xx).
- sorry for the confusion on my part. Everyone who plays can have FIVE guesses all at once or spread out for the first four days (now through Wednesday). If on Thanksgiving morning at 7am PST the exact weight has not been guessed, members are allowed 1 guess per hour until the exact number is guessed or time expires. Good luck and have fun!

14.04 17.12 19.01 24.15 28.13 Heard about this on Facebook! Welcome to the forum. There are a lot of better reasons to be on this site than this contest (although contests are always fun). I'm glad you finally found us. Stick around and chat with us, there are a lot of people here who know a lot about rocks and the lapidary arts.

Ding ding ding ding! WE have a winner folks! Jug #1 contains 9.41 lbs after subtracting for packaging - #2 contains 9.04 Congratulations MrMike and thank you to everyone who played. MrMike if you will send me your address I'll get your prize out pronto. Also want to say a special thanks to everyone who came over from the RTH Facebook group page. The folks here will tell you that Forums are a MUCH more personal way to get acquainted with fellow hobbyists than the fast pace, zero accountability world of Facebook. We invite you all to settle in and make a few posts, ask a few questions and by all means post a few photos of your favorite lapidary creations.
