I recently moved to coastal Oregon from the Denver Metro area and fell in love with rocks, bought a tumbler and then another. I have no idea what I'm doing and am learning by trial and error. It occurred to me that there should be info on the web and that is how I found this site. I am tumbling beach rock. There may be agate in the stuff I have collected, but basically I have collected because the size, shape or color caught my eye. I'm a very tactile person, I love the feel of the rocks and how smooth they can be straight off the beach! I may move on to river rock next summer when the weather will be better for looking for rocks. My rocks are definitely polishing but they still look a little more polished when wet than dry. So DI am hoping to learn.

Welcome from Northern California Julianne! You came to the right place to learn about tumbling. You will not be the only tactile person around. There are a lot of us!!
We enjoy sharing our hobbies with others. Take lots of photos!
