Hi everyone, here are some pics that member Warren sent me to post. The first is some rocks he polished, he can maybe tell us about them, very nice job buddy. The second is of another home made tumbler he made, a solid oak art piece. A real beauty Warren. Great job! Later all, Don

Greetings All, Very nice job on the tumbler Warren, it looks fairly simple to make and it's probably a whole lot cheaper than buying one. Amazing what a little innovation and imagination can do. Would that I had some instead of just buying what I need Mucho Kudos WilliamC

A big THANKS to Don for posting the pictures. I have made several tumblers and tried on this one not to cobble it together, I feel it turned out good I did put a little wood oil on the oak to help protect it and give it a little shine. Most of the stones are agates. Some I don't know just what they are, the biggest one was given to me I think it originated in Wyo. or Mont. Some of the smaller ones I found in the landscaping around a house that I painted. The tumbler materials list is listed in the other forum. Thanks again Don

Yes it is a pvc end cap 2" I cut the groove with a dremel tool drilled and tapped the center hole (it isn't perfect done with hand tool only but it is close enough that the belt works) Look in the general board and the rest of the list is there or email me and I will help.

question about the tumbler, where did you get the motor to run the tumbler?

My wife works at a plumbing shop and it was a humidifer motor. it was used when I got it so I really can't prove just where it is from. If you buy a little motor like this get one that pulls .3 or .4 amps and is thermally protected ( it will shut itself off if it gets to hot). They are a common motor, brand new they are around 25$ or so. On the one tumbler I made I used the belt and pulleys from Thumlers and they work real slick.
