Very nice job! Good shape. How long did you run those in the 60/90 before advancing? Nice shine too! What polish did you use? What class of rock is a 'Dalmation stone'? Caninatite? Ha Ha I just crack myself up! Sorry-I guess I am the only one.

they ran 15 days on 60/90 with 2 recharges; 8 days on phase 2; 8 days on phase 3 and 10 days in cerium oxide. it's a jasper. i think the fun shapes came from not reading about having the proper mix of sizes and they were all too close in size starting out. but i think the shapes are great for wirewrapping if i can just get my nerve up now. hmmmmmmmm that might be an experiment to run another type stone close in size and see if it gives great shapes too.
i've got to decide now what i want to start in that empty slot on the qt66. i'm thinking i may put my mix of rocks in polish - the ones that i set aside earlier because i couldn't decide if they were ready or i may just start a whole new batch of something.
decisions....decisions

Great Job Kim!!! What a neat looking type of stone. The name "dalmation stone" truly does fit. How many lbs of rock is that?

james it started as 5 lbs and i don't have a kitchen scale so i'm guessing here but it was down to 1/2 load in the 6# barrel so maybe 3 - 3.5 lbs now? i started thinking that it might be good to have a twin 3# tumbler to do the polish stages as you lose so much stone then this crazy thinking kicked in and went in the other direction - decided it would be the same principle to get a 12# tumbler for 1st phases then use the qt66's for the rest and like a good addict i couldn't just get the 12# tumbler so i threw in a dremel, grit..........vise . so anything i need to know about a dremel just feel more than free to tell me!
