Before After two weeks and two recharges at 55 RPM. No smalls. Poured slurry off and thinned it with water every 7 days. Only the biggest sifted chunks used. At this point I often grind the problem areas off manually which makes rocks quite a bit smaller. So more need adding. Biggest chunks(about 15% of the bulk SiC is this big size) Left over big chunks after two 3/4 cup additions two weeks rolling After the rocks are shaped I run them 8 to 10 days, maybe 2 weeks in SiC 30 at a slower 30 RPM with quite a thick clay slurry to prep for vibe.

Very interesting! I have a 45 pound commercial tumbler barrel. It's steel with no liner. I wsnt to use it on a treadmill my aunt gave me to clean up rocks I hound. Get the mud and crumbly stuff off so I can see what direction to slab. This grit sounds like the way to go. I met a guy that does this just uses smalls and big chunks in water.

It does not hurt to hurl those tough Mohs 7 agates along at 55 RPM. Few smalls, hard grind. Cracks that chunky grit up in about 5 days. But grinds every one of those 5 days. It is some cheap scnitt SiC. Cuts fast. cuts PVC barrel fast too ! You could rough grind in a steel barrel to get them shaped. Then go to your PVC and skin them again with SiC 30-46-60.
