Ok, I was wanting to change out a bump drum to an expando. Not sure how to do this? The bump wheels have a set screw to attach to the 1" shaft. Don't have the expando drum yet, but from what I can see from pics, there would not be a set screw. Thoughts? Thank you! Tom

I have had good luck using shaft collars glued to the wheel on one or both sides.

Expandos mount like other wheels by tightening end nut. If you cut spacers (expando hub centers are only 1/2" thick) be sure to cut them square. I use 1" schedule 40 PVC pipe and cut with a tiny chop saw.

Thanks guys! Think I will try glueing the lock collars on. There are no threads on the shaft. Tom

You may be using the bump wheel end of an old HP arbor which does not have threads. Shaft collars will work, but obviously they have to be tight. I have done this but didn't think about adding glue to the mix. Locktite might be one alternative.

If shaft was smaller you could by a shaft adapter.
