Very nice pieces! Both need to be face polished and left whole.

What is the spotted material? I just threw a bunch of it away because I couldn't figure out how to polish it in the tumbler, and now I'm obviously worried I made a huge mistake. I might have more back there so...

It's oolite and comes from Bristlecone Pine Forest. sorry you tossed it out. slabs and cabs can get pricey, if you have more make cabs

It doesn't agree with me but if I have any more I might post it for sale. I'd pretty much stopped selling/swapping because of the cost of shipping + time it takes me to pack items had made it too difficult. But if it's actually "pricey," I could post it. A while back I was posting items and if nobody bought them, I was just tossing them out. I actually thought I'd offered some of that back then... hmmmmmm...

It looks like I threw out the whole 3 # tumbler run because I was so disgusted with the quality of polish. I found this one little piece of scrap which is not too exciting but maybe you can tell if it's the same material. If so, I'll give you guys a shout if I come across any more. Mine is a lot greener so maybe I can be optimistic I didn't discard anything of much value.

Here's a few pics of a cab I did-
Preform
It is about an 1 1/2" long, 1 1/4" at the wider end. Took a really great polish.
Seems to me the rest of the cab was a little more green than this.
Next time you have something you don't know what it is, ASK! Don't toss it out. Never know how rare it may be.
