That is bamboo Glenn. It is resilient. It also blocks all access to my roads until it thaws.
You can shake the snow out of it if you want to make them rise. Or beat it with a broom stick. Lots of work.

Took them out and put in 90ft. more of fence to keep the deer out. That bamboo is really springy stuff, pretty in the snow.

High powered Naval civil engineers write quite a book of using bamboo for concrete reinforcement.

That is one strong versatile material.

The bamboo has added some dynamics to the property. The critters roost in it during warm weather.
Knowing what I know now I would have bulldozed 3 or 4 acres on the side of a hill and planted it in a big blob.
