I did check the hardware store here and they never even heard of it. But, ya' gonna understand, I'm in out in po-dunk and there's probably not alot of demand for cutting oil around here. LOL! There's another hardware store down the road about 15 miles in a bigger town, so they might have it, if not I'll just have to wait til I need to make the 50 mile round trip to the "city" (pop 18,000+) over the mountain. There is a Home Depot and Lowes there.

Hey guys, thanks a bunch for the comps! I hesitated putting knapped stuff on a tumbling site, but I love that Mook and wanted to show the colors. Wiz, anyone can do that. I think it is almost instinctive. Trace anyones ancestry back far enough and you'll find a knapper in there some where. We have been making stone tools for several million years, it has to be some what ingrained in us all. If you are interested there are some good books out there. D.C. Waldorfs ' The Art of Flint Knapping' is a good starter and goes pretty in depth also. It is a great hobby, but takes time to learn. You either have to be nuts or just love it to stick with it. (both for me) E-mail me off list if I can help you Wiz or explain things to you better. Thanks again guys, ttyl, Don

llana, i can sure sympathize with being in "po-dunk". i went 3 places this morning looking for cool tool or anything similar with absolutely no luck. at the 2nd place i had 3 men all come out from behind the counter and ask me over and over what it was and what it was used for then go get another man so we could start over. at the last place i threw my elbows on the counter and asked "well CAN you get it" so they ARE fixing to stock it if for nobody else but me. couldn't even get a decent pair of safety glasses - the county bought all they had yesterday so i had to settle for something i know will drive me crazy but at least they are clear. my husband brought me one of his used pairs that are safety sunglasses. i need to be able to see my fingers clearly!

Owwwwww! I can hear the hounds a baying! Hey John, I agree, they look like they're ready. If you have your grinding wheels set up, you can always touch up any stubborn spots with your green carbide wheels first before you move on. Just be sure to use your fine grind wheel last to eliminate any deep grind marks.
