I polished this large chunk of agate today. 5 inches accross 2 inches high and 5 inches deep.

When I look at your agate and I see the pattern (seen below). It is almost like a phantom. I think this may be a fossil replaced by agate.

There are lots of fossils out there who have become agates. No fault of their own, lol. I am into fossils and am amazed at what an organic creature, pre-glacial age, has become. There are many out there, just waiting to be found and appreciated by rock collectors and lapidary professionals.
